Rigtube Trailer & Roof-rack advice

About
On the roof
Roof racks are a great way of carrying RIGTUBE™ but take care:
• Check the vehicle handbook to make sure that the load, including the weight of the roof rack itself, doesn't exceed the maximum permitted roof load.
• Ensure that RIGTUBE™ is securely attached and follow advice from the Highway Code which states "you must secure your load and it must not stick out dangerously".
• Once you're underway, the airflow will be trying to lift the front of any long load, RIGTUBE™ due to its shape tends to remain stable providing the front overhang is not excessive, ideally no more than 1.2 metres.
• Under heavy braking, any load will tend to slide forwards; secure fixings will help prevent this.
• Straps or fixings tend to work loose, we suggest you stop, check and re-secure during your journey. If the load is moving about, slow down gently, then stop as soon as it safe to do so, and re-secure.
• Don't forget the extra height; for example when entering covered car parks, particularly if you've loaded an already fairly tall people carrier or 4x4.

On the trailer
Trailers are a popular way to transport sailing dinghies and the RIGTUBE™, but take care:
• Ideally RIGTUBE™ should be secured to the frame of the trailer, but remember to follow advice from the Highway Code which states "you must secure your load and it must not stick out dangerously".
• Straps or fixings tend to work loose, we suggest you stop, check and re-secure during your journey. If the load is moving about, slow down gently, then stop as soon as it safe to do so, and re-secure.
• Under heavy braking, any load will tend to slide forwards; secure fixings will help prevent this.
